Hi! In terms of carbon footprint (so the amount of carbon dioxide we emit while buring fossil fuels) the split is between
        – household use
        – industry use
        – agriculture
        – transport

I’d say each category represents roughly a fourth (25%), perhaps household energy use being a bit bigger than transport. There are also few percents each for waste processes and water use. That’s why it’s important to save energy wherever possible!

Overall, we currently use more energy in our homes than is used for things like farming and by factories, and in developed countries like ours the largest uses of energy in our homes are heating and air conditioning.

Better insulation in buildings would help to reduce the need for both heating and air conditioning- and that’s why modern buildings are built with plenty of insulation.
