The most important thing to me are my friends and my family and thanks to technology like mobile phones and the internet I can be in constant communication with them and that’s great.
But I already live over 300 miles away from my Mum, and I plan to work abroad in the future, which will mean I’ll get even further away. I hope that if we can find more environmentally friendly ways to fuel the transport industry (and perhaps one day my research will be able to contribute to this) I’ll be able to see a lot more of the people that are important to me!

P.S. I miss my dog more than my mum really, I wish it was possible to speak to your pets on the phone!

I must say, I second Megan’s answer. I live over 1000 miles from my family, which means I have to fly to see them. Which makes me think, even if I try really hard to make my lifestyle more sustainable, my air miles footprint is kinda “ruining” everything! But -these are the dilemmas we are facing and this makes the sustainability decisions more challenging. Haven’t seen any research on teleportation, but it would be a great invention!

I agree with Ola and Megan, for me it’s also family.

The most important things to me are family and friends as well. And hopefully my work can go towards renewable energy being widely used, and that helping to save our planet from over heating and all of the natural resources being used up.
