I currently live with my family in Durban in South Africa. My favourite food is pasta, especially penne. I enjoy listening to music and being with people I love. I am a member of the South African Chemical Institute since 2007, member of the International Golden Key Honour Society since 2011 and member of the Catalysis Society of South Africa since 2008. I am also an Affiliate member of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry and member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

My research interest is in Biorenewable energy, specifically the conversion of biomass to value added chemicals. I am currently the Principal Investigator in the conversion of biomass section of the Catalysis Research Group in the School of Chemistry and Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

This involves some lecturing, some admin, some research and also consulting with my students.

I will help students from disadvantaged schools to learn more about science and increase their interest in it.
